Period 3 Morning honors students listened to the brief morning announcements, then got straight to work on Vocab Bingo, the game everyone wins! We played three rounds for a variety of snack foods. Homework: Tonight you need to study vocabulary (for the exam tomorrow), but you also need to wrap up the three pages in your journal, print your X2 report, and make sure any and all Animal Farm homework is up to date. Period 2 Morning college prep students began with whiteboard sentences (catalyst + exodus) and slideshow before continuing the Prologue practice with worksheet 8-1 and 8-2. I then checked the Chapter 3 homework from last night, and the class read all of Chapter 4. Homework: Either write a letter about the Battle of the Cowshed from Boxer's point of view -OR- draw a comic strip illustrating what happened in the battle. Also, don't forget that you need to wrap up the two pages in your journal tonight and print your X2 report. Period 6 Afternoon college prep students began with whiteboard sentences (facilitate + incorrigible) and slideshow before continuing the Prologue practice with worksheet 8-2. We then took a quiz over the rest of Chapter 6, checked it, and started the reading questions over Chapters 3 through 6. The remainder of class was spent reading Chapter 7 of Animal Farm. Homework: Finish reading Chapter 7, and do all of the reading questions. Don't forget to wrap up the two pages in your journal and print your X2 report. Period 7 Honors students launched straight into a rousing game of Vocab Bingo in preparation for tomorrow's exam over Units 1 through 9 in Sadlier-Oxford's Vocabulary Level D. Homework: Beyond studying for tomorrow's test, you should wrap up the three pages in your journal, print your X2 report, and finish up any and all Animal Farm homework.
