Period 2 Morning college prep students began the day with the announcements and warmups. We then recited the Prologue to Romeo and Juliet as a memory refresher before checking last night's homework and beginning a new grammar unit on pronouns. The bulk of class was spent on vocabulary homework, which we did in class (rather than in the computer lab as usual). We did check the "paper Quia" in class. Homework: Make sure you've written a supershort story using all 10 vocab words in your journal; highlight the words so I will notice them and give you credit on Friday. Also, finish reading Chapter 5 of Animal Farm so you'll ace the "pop" quiz on Thursday. Period 3 Morning honors students began class with announcements on poetry recitations and some time to journal before launching into a new grammar unit on pronouns. I checked last night's homework before we continued our sojourn through Animal Farm. We went over the events of Chapter 9 and read Chapter 10 together. Homework: Do the Chapter 10 assignment tonight, and answer the Chapter 9-10 questions (complete sentences, page numbers, and quotes required). Don't forget to make flash cards for tomorrow!
