Period 2 Morning college prep students began class with whiteboard sentences (accomplice + annihilate) and the vocabulary slideshow. We then practiced the Prologue to Act I of Romeo and Juliet (worksheet 7-1). Afterward I put students back into the Animal Farm seats and we went over the reading questions for Chapters 1 and 2. We concluded class with working on the Seven Commandments from the book. Homework: Besides the usual (journaling), you should finish writing out the Seven Commandments and coloring them. Period 6 Afternoon college prep students began class with whiteboard sentences (arbitrary + brazen) and the vocabulary slideshow. We then practiced the Prologue to Act I of Romeo and Juliet (worksheet 7-2). Afterward I checked last night's homework and we read on in Animal Farm. Homework: Do the Chapter 5 assignment, either a missing person poster for Mollie or else a political poster illustrating both Snowball and Napoleon's viewpoints and slogans. Also, don't forget to journal! Period 7 Afternoon honors students continued their Prologue practice with worksheet 6-1, then checked last night's homework (the vocab review sheet). We spent the next 20 minutes or so reading Chapter 7 in Animal Farm, and the last 15 minutes setting up for the Poetry Out Loud competition today at 3. Homework: Besides journaling, students need to finish reading Chapter 7 and complete the assignment for it (either a Most Wanted Poster for Snowball or else a Pigs Gone Wild trifold illustrating how the pigs have strayed from their original ideals).
